For making Rosehip Wine or as part of your wine recipe.
Use as an alternative to fresh rosehips - 500g of dried rosehips is equivilant to 2kg of fresh.
- Can also be used to make rosehip tea
Rosehip Wine - 1 Gallon Recipe
Pour 1 gallon boiling water into a fermenting bin.
Stir in 1.25 kg of white sugar and 250g of dried rosehips.
Stir well until sugar is dissolved.
When cool, add 5ml each of citric acid, yeast nutrient, pectic enzyme and grape tannin, then add a good wine yeast.
Keep well covered, in a warm place and stir daily for a week.
Strain into a demijohn and allow to ferment out, topping up with water if necessary.
Rack off and bottle when ferment is complete.
